Here we address the environmental problems that humanity is exposing itself to.

Humankind’s extraordinary productive capacity, aided by machines, allows for increased consumption and/or population growth. Combined and multiplied, the Earth’s resources cannot sustain this in a long-term, sustainable way. The planet is being depleted and polluted, leading to a threat to human survival. Humanity has become its own worst enemy.

Environmental issues are handled by a wide range of organizations—large and small, general or specialized. These are not part of our mission, but they naturally concern The Global Society. If the basis for our survival weakens, society must try to adapt and respond. The Global Society must be organized accordingly.

One issue that is rarely discussed is that there are too many people on the planet, all striving for a high material standard. That is not feasible. The number must decrease.
